Meet The DIRECTOR

Ayahnna Hines is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who studied ballet, jazz, modern, and tap from 1989 through 2003 at local dance studios within the Philadelphia and New York City dance community. During her undergraduate matriculation, from 2003-2007, at Howard University, she studied Pre-Physical Therapy earning a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and later became licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in PA, MD, and FL. As a member of the Howard University Bisonette Dance Ensemble she led the team as Co-Captain from 2005-2006 and Captain from 2006-2007. Under her co-leadership, with the captain in 2006, the Bisonettes were the 1st HBCU to attend the Universal Dance Association Competition in Orlando, Florida. She is a former member and principal dancer (2007-2013) with Grace Dance Theater, Inc. of Philadelphia, PA., where she served as assistant rehearsal director to the second company. Upon moving to the DMV in 2018 Ayahnna volunteered for 3.5 years as an Assistant Coach followed by Head Coach for the Bisonettes. As a former dance educator throughout Army Bases in Germany, and local dance studios in Philadelphia and Florida Ayahnna was known for her unique educational style in ballet and pointe technique and dynamic choreography taught to pre-professional students.

Being a dedicated member and former volunteer coach of the Bisonettes introduced her into the world of commercial dance and pro-cheer/dance entertainment. Ayahnna was a Sixers Dancer finalist in 2007 and 2008 and after returning from overseas to the DMV became a 2-time returning guest judge for Command Force (2022 and 2023). She currently serves as a digital media specialist for many dance studios nationwide, non-profit organizations, and curates’ beauty and lifestyle content for brands. As a newly established resident of Howard County, Maryland Ayahnna is excited to share her talents and expertise within our local community of dancers.

TRAINING

Through our expert instruction, supportive environment, and commitment to excellence, training is the backbone to the Divine Dance Artistry program.

We offer a comprehensive range of dance genres. Our curriculum encompasses the following:

PERFORMANCES

Through performances, outreach programs, and community events, Divine Dance Artistry actively engages with and enriches the communities it serves. Whether through showcasing the beauty and diversity of dance or through initiatives that promote social responsibility and civic engagement, we contributes to the cultural vitality and well-being of the community though the arts.

Performance opportunities will be local to the DMV area but can expand to travel opportunities in coming years.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Our focus on tailored professional development experiences will equip dancers with artistic, executive, and leadership skills that will serve them well both on and off the stage. This not only benefits the individual dancers but also strengthens the broader community by fostering a new generation of leaders and creatives.

Students will engage in collegiate dance prep audition workshops, interview prep, resume courses, professional speaking classes, NBA/NFL pro audition prep and more.
